Police beat up Channels TV reporter during Rivers protest
During a protest in Port Harcourt against emergency rule in Rivers State, police fired tear gas at protesters and journalists. Channels Television reporter Charles Opurum was tear-gassed, arrested and beaten by a policeman before being released by the Commissioner of Police's monitoring unit, and police seized an AIT cameraman's camera and deleted his footage.
